Registered Sale Market Report

This registered sale had a mixed bag of animals. Some were really good and some average and a few poor.  The excellent ones did really good as usual.  The really old thin ones didn’t do as well. We had way too many billies and several were po’s. People dont’ realize that those do better  as wethers and sold for market or show stock. Also one person po’d his nannies.  They were older and 3 were not even 100% but he felt he needed $300 which in this day and time is expecting a little much.  He might get that on the farm but not in the sale ring and apparently he had not got it at the farm. The doelings did well.  We had I think 84 animals including kids total and 69 sold.   This crowd was a little smaller than usual but very discriminating in their choices. I heard more discussion in the crowd as to form and shape and also to pedigree than I had at previous sales.

Opps, thought this market report was corrected but kids are showing up as pygmy goats. There were no pyugmy goats.   It shows the count but they are sold with the Dam and for one price so will be reflected under families (dam + 2 or more kids)or pairs (dam plus 1 kid).
