Prices are by head unless marked by CWT(wool sheep) or by pairs.  Pairs are a doe or ewe with one or more kids. Our market report reports all goats & sheep sold not just the best ones as some markets do. This is the prices last sale- may be higher or lower next sale or the same.

We appreciate all our customers and if your local market has recently closed we welcome you to our sale.  Or if you are not happy where you have been selling come give us a try.

This sale we had 249 head.  Prices keep being sporatic.  Some goats went up - nanny, nanny kids, and wethers: billies, billy kids and pygmies dropped a little.  Again age, quality and breeds makes a big difference.  Hair sheep ewes and ram lambs went up, hair ewe lambs went down but only had 4 so not a real test of the market.  Wool sheep went up this sale from the averages last sale. Supply and demand controls the market and if TX has started dumping goats due to the drought that could be why they dropped a little.  Also we have an ethnic holiday coming up in about 2 weeks, and then Labor Day also which helped the market.

We finally got our consignment sale on computer but couldn’ t get it to work this sale.  We have a few bugs to work out. We had about 400 items, some misc items, lots of poultry-chickens, ducks, guinneas, rabbits, and  bermuda hay (15 bales) and prairie(15 bales).

The average price takes ALL into account not just the best ones.   Weight, amount of meat on the frame, looks, health, market demand, age, and color even makes a difference. A  nanny’s bag makes a difference.  It is an auction and what ever someone will give is what it sells for.

Goat and hair sheep sold by head.  Wool sheep sold by the pound converted to CWT or hundred weight. CWT 192= 1.92 a pound.  Pairs can be one nanny and 1 or several kids.  Pygmy listing is for the small goats breeds including Nigerian Dwf Breed.
